About my work

My favourite way to work is to be experimental and intuitive, using a diverse range of media and techniques to best represent the essence of the subject.  The process is usually a combination of random elements and intention.

In most pieces I create, you will find organic forms, and the wild beings and places that our ancestors would also have known; the creatures and landscapes that we know in our dreams, if not our reality.

I work in layers which are often playfully or instinctively laid down, though some contain clearer meaning, for example, through a handwritten wish, a prayer or a poem, subsequently painted over.  Sometimes you'll see excavations to previous layers or glimpses of what went before - stories and conversations through time.
